Unwind and Relax While Surrounded by Nature at the Spa @ De Hoop! [Review]

spa treatment

A little while ago I told you all about my wonderous trip to De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Western Cape. I’m sure after reading that review you were inspired to take a beat and escape the craziness of city life for weekend or week-long retreat to the beautiful reserve. If you missed the review and you have no potting clue what I’m on about then click here to read it now (trust me it’s a goodie!) While I was there I also got the opportunity to visit the brand new Spa @ De Hoop and while I was already pretty relaxed after spending a night surrounded by nature a visit to the Spa @ De Hoop really helped to seal the deal and put me into full relaxation mode. If you’re heading to the Bredasdorp region then you won’t be able to resist popping into this delightful little spa for an hour or two of pampering.

I love that the De Hoop Collection has partnered with Africology for this exciting new offering for De Hoop visitors – a match made in heaven if you ask me. The brand fits in perfectly with the overall vision of the De Hoop Nature Reserve as they’re all about embracing the healing powers of nature through the use of ingredients from Africa and South Africa. Africology is also a proudly South African brand and signifies luxury and pure relaxation. If you’ve ever been to an Africology spa before then I don’t need to tell you that is somewhat of an out of body experience. I absolutely adore visiting their spas so when I heard that an Africology spa was opening at De Hoop I knew I couldn’t leave De Hoop without checking it out.

The great thing about Africology treatments is they are carried out like a ritual – leaving your mind and body at peace with one another. Each treatment begins and ends with the signature Africology ritual which offers a special luxurious touch to your spa experience. I got the chance to experience the Intonga Amasatchi massage (75 min -R800) – a deep tissue massage aimed at relieving stress and relaxing the muscles. During the massage the therapist uses a variety of different sized yellow wood sticks to stretch tight muscles and ease toxic overload from daily stress. My massage therapist, Natasha made sure I left the treatment room feeling like a million bucks and I would definitely recommend this treatment to anyone who needs to reset and forget about the stresses of work and city life.

Another plus is that the treatment rooms look out over the absolutely breathtaking De Hoop Vlei so you can soak up the stunning views while getting a massage or enjoying a pedicure. The spa offers two treatment rooms and a separate area for manicures and pedicures. The Spa @ De Hoop offers a range of massage treatments to treat the body and mind as well as a selection of facials, manicures, pedicures and of course, grooming services. Gift cards are also available for special occasions.
