Don’t Miss the Winelands Chocolate Festival This Weekend!

Chocolate lovers rejoice – The Winelands Chocolate Festival is back for yet another sweet, sweet event. This two-day event takes place at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of August 2016, and promises to offer visitors an even bigger and better line-up this time around. That’s right ladies, get ready for two full days of quality chocolate, gourmet foods, fine wines, and great entertainment, including live music and an exquisite chocolate-inspired fashion show!
If you love chocolate then you can’t afford to miss this festival which offers something for all ages. Explore the beautiful Blaauwklippen Wine Estate and indulge in chocolate and patisserie tastings from over 40 leading artisanal chocolatiers, patisseries and confectioners (don’t forget to buy some to take home with you!) while you marvel at the incredible chocolate creations made by Lindt’s chef, Dimo Simatos and his team. If you’re keen to learn a little something on the day then book a spot at one of the chocolate demos and tutored tastings in the Manor House or visit the Victorian Kitchen and step back in time and see how the Victorians prepared their chocolate many years ago with the secret recipe from Dr Hans Sloane who later sold his special recipe to the Cadbury brothers.
Other fun activities you don’t want to miss, include the Stephano Fashion Show at 11:30 and 15:30 on both days of the festival. Visitors can feast their eyes on high-quality designs produced by creative genius, Stephan Olivier. Stephan has collaborated with fine jewellers Jacomien Labuschagne and Zuyda van Dyk who will compliment his garments with beautiful gold and silver jewellery, as well as tongue-in-cheek pieces – all inspired by chocolate. There will also be a kid’s play area with 3 jumping castles (for different ages), an obstacle course and more – including a seating area for mums and dads nearby.
Tickets are available online from Webtickets and at the door. Ticket Prices are R120 for adults (includes a wine glass) and R60 for Scholars. Kids under 6 years get in free. For more information visit the Winelands Chocolate Festival website here.
