Wine of the Month Club: Nederburg Winemasters Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon [Review]
It’s time once again for Wine of the Month Club! I have sampled some delicious wines over the past few months and now I’m back, ready to introduce you to my favourite wine for October 2018, Nederburg Winemasters Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Winter may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean we have to stop drinking red wine. This delightfully smokey red offers something to savour even on warm, summer nights spent shooting the breeze. Here’s why it’s my pick for Wine of the Month Club this October
This delightful red forms part of Nederburg’s core super- premium wines, the Winemaster’s Reserve ensemble. Rich, bold and full-bodied, bursting with notes of berry and plum, The Winemaster’s Cabernet Sauvignon is red wine done right. This classically styled, food-friendly wine is elegant and shows true finesse from winemaker Samuel Viljoen. Take a sip and you will unpack delicate oak spice flavours with hints of vanilla spice, and with firm, but supple tannins.
I love it because it’s delicious on its own but can also be paired with so many great, hearty home cooked dishes. It’s a home cooks dream come true, especially if you take dinner parties very seriously. Serve it when you’re gearing up to impress your guests with home cooked delights like roast lamb, red meat casseroles, beef and venison, poultry and game bird dishes. If you’re looking for the ideal wine to serve with dessert, it’s worth noting that this red also pairs well with mature cheeses so why not skip the after dinner sweets and enjoy a little red wine and cheese course instead?
