Wine of the Month Club: KWV’s Grenache Blanc is Something for Wine Geeks to Savour [Review]

It’s time once again for Wine of the Month Club! I have sampled some delicious wines over the past few months and now I’m back, ready to introduce you to my favourite wine for August 2017. Say hello to the KWV Grenache Blanc 2014. This complex wine is a wine geek’s dream come true and is the perfect winter white wine for those who want to enjoy something other than a bold winter red. Here’s why it’s my pick for Wine of the Month Club this month!
This refreshing wine is a great all-year-round wine that is sure to offer something different in winter than in summer. Its bold, full-bodied flavour makes it the ideal winter white wine. Flavours on the nose and palate include aromas of orange peel, mandarin and Granny Smith apples which transcend into a flavoursome palate of white peach, mineral, lime and spice. The Grenache Blanc 2014 offers more of a creamy finish and is truly something different.
This wine is great by the glass in front of the fire place but can also be enjoyed with dishes like salmon, sushi, cheese or a creamy risotto. It’s full bodied flavour means it can also easily stand up to bold, rich winter dishes so try it with your favourite winter pasta dish or stew for a different pairing approach.
The KWV Grenache Blanc 2014 is available at select liquor retailers nationwide and is priced at approximately R145 per bottle. Click here to buy it online now.
