Showing every Tuesday (Hillcrest Quarry), Wednesday (Kirstenbosch), Thursday (the V&A Waterfront), rotating Friday venues in the city (The Palms, Central Park, Fedisa Rooftop, Meerendal Wine Estate and UCT) and every second weekend in the Winelands, doors open at 18:00 and the movie begins as soon as it’s dark. Every venue offers a unique experience, from when the doors open onto a festive market with delicious mouth-watering artisanal food and drinks (both alcoholic and soft), interactive games on hand and lively music in the air, to when the sun sets and the stars come out, both in the sky and on the screen.
Bringing families, friends and strangers together, The Galileo is a not to be missed summer outing for all. Celebrating their fourth year as Cape Town’s premier open-air cinema, The Galileo has gone to town this season – there’s even a VIP section that allows movie lovers to enjoy a more exclusive experience (reserved premium seats, a blanket and backrest, popcorn, a Savanna Light and a box of Chocolat Frey) under the stars. Ticket prices range from R79 per person for a standard ticket, R87 per person for a ‘Warm’ ticket (with a blanket), R95 for a ‘Comfy’ ticket (with a backrest), R100 for a ‘Warm and Comfy’ ticket (with a blanket and backrest), and R149 per person for a VIP ticket (with reserved premium seating, Savanna Light, box of Chocolat Frey, popcorn, blanket and backrest).
