Wearble Art: The Lalela Scarf’s New Range Wows for a Good Cause

Need something to spice up your wardrobe? Lalela’s new line of scarves are beautiful works of art and will transform any outfit from drab to straight-up fab. The best bit? Investing in a piece of Lalela’s wearable art will also mean doing your bit for a good cause. International luxury fashion brand, The Lalela Scarf, exclusively supports Lalela, a nonprofit arts education programme in sub-Saharan Africa for young people at risk.
The designs on the scarves are the pupils’ original artworks and each collection is curated by New York-based creative director Sandy Tabatznik, who draws on stand-out paintings and then adapts their format. “Lalela provides educational arts to young people at risk to spark creative thinking and awaken the entrepreneurial spirit,” says Tabatznik.
The Lalela Scarf was first conceived as a means of funding Lalela, but has grown into a stand-alone luxury brand in its own right and is a member of the prestigious Positive Luxury Brand, which includes other top-tier brands such as Louis Vuitton.
The Lalela Scarf releases an all-new collection twice a year, for autumn/winter and spring/summer. The autumn/winter scarves are designed to hug your neck with the warmth of wool, silk and cashmere while the lighter spring/summer items float in breezy featherweight cotton/silks. The latest Lalela collection includes scarves, pocket squares, bandanas and leather bags.
The new Lalela range will be available through selected retail outlets in South Africa. For more information say hi to The Lalela Scarf on Facebook.
