Trend Alert: Port & Tonic Spritzers Are the New G&T [Recipe]
Port isn’t just for cold winter nights anymore, the delicious sweet wine is staking its claim as a summer must-have for those nights when you want something light and oh-so-refreshing. Popular in Portugal, port is one of the great summer sundowners, the trend has made its way to the rest of Europe and now KWV is bringing it to sunny SA with this delightful recipe for Tawny & Tonic using the KWV Classic Collection Cape Tawny. To celebrate the start of the sunny days, KWV has partnered with Fitch & Leedes to bring you this recipe for a Summer Spritzer Tawny & Tonic – a light, thirst-quenching drink that can be enjoyed poolside on a hot summer’s day or over dinner with friends.
Summer Spritzer Tawny & Tonic
Ingredients:
1 part (tot) KWV Classic Collection Cape Tawny
3 parts tonic water (we love using the Fitch & Leedes Pink tonic!)
1 x slice of lemon | a sprig of mint | 1 strawberry sliced
Method:
Fill a large tumbler or wine glass with ice, mix the tonic and Tawny and pour over ice. Garnish with lemon, mint, or strawberries.
