Frankly, we’re quite shocked we’re only just hearing about this brilliance but every winter for the past 11 years, Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch hosts a winter charity drive where you can donate clothes you don’t wear to Cape Town’s poorer communities. The campaign has enjoyed massive success over the years with around five tonnes of clothes, food items, and warm blankets being donated last year alone, and this year they’re hoping for an even greater turnout.

Of course, like most great things in life, there are a few terms and conditions: for every kilogram of clothing donated, you’ll receive a selected bottle of Jordan wine as a thank you gift, with a maximum of 12 bottles per donor. The clothing-wine swap is entirely dependent on the availability of wine, but the drive will still be accepting donations if stock runs dry. Bonus: there’s a delightful bakery onsite at the estate that serves freshly-baked breads, pastries, light meals and sharing platters that are sure to warm you up!The Jordan Winter Charity Drive runs until 31 August 2018 so get cracking on that closet cleanup!
Get involved in the Winter Charity Drive at the Jordan Wine Estate Bakery between 08:00 and 16:00 everyday, including weekends. For more information visit the Jordan Wine Estate website.
