This Non-Invasive Treatment Helped Me Lose Centimeters in 30 Minutes! [Review]

I know because I’ve tried it … and loved the results! Before heading through to The Rejuvenation Centre in Stellenbosch for my first treatment I was more than a little sceptical about the treatments but after a few quick sessions on my eyes, arms, and tummy I was officially a fan.

But it’s not a miracle weight loss machine, and treatments are more focused on the rejuvenation and contouring of the face and body rather than weight loss. When coupled with a healthy lifestyle BTL Exilis Elite treatments can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, remodel the face, assist with volume reduction, and the re-contouring of problem body areas.
But how does it work? According to the creators of BTL, uniform delivery of heat deep into the targeted layers of fat, achieves effective lipolysis (breakdown of fat) and controlled cell death. And, after a few treatments this culminates in a 30-40% improvement in skin laxity and the reduction of fat. All this while still going about your daily life – no down time! Most clients need about 4 – 6 sessions, each one week apart, but it does depend on the person and how good you are after the treatments.
I had treatments with the BTL Exilis Elite to treat fine lines around my eyes and tone and tighten the skin on my lower stomach and inner arms. I had four 30-minute treatment sessions in total, each a week apart and was thrilled with the results. As I said, while this treatment isn’t a miracle cure (I made sure I continued to exercise, eat right, and drink plenty of water during and long after my treatment period) it did help me to give me a little bit of an edge on my weight loss journey.
I’m only 30 but I do have a few fine lines that are starting to form on corners of my eyes (yay for laugh lines!) and the BTL Exilis Elite treatments around my eyes helped to tighten the skin in this area and reduce the appearance of these pesky little lines. Of course, I was never going to receive mind blowing results in this area, as I didn’t have much to treat, but more mature ladies looking for a little non-invasive nip and tighten can achieve impressive results with this fabulous machine.
While I loved seeing the improved skin elasticity around my eyes it was the results on my arms and tummy that really impressed me. Like a lot of women, I’ve always struggled with toning that pesky bit of skin under my arms and the BTL Exilis Elite treatments helped me lose 3 centimetres on my upper arms and I could see that the skin was noticeably tighter around the treatment area. As for my tummy I lost a total of 4 centimetres around this area and again noticed considerable tightening of the skin in this area. The treatment itself is relatively pain-free and is over in a few minutes – it can be very hot at times but you just need to communicate with your therapist to make sure it stays at a manageable level throughout the session. As for downtime, there’s none! There can be some redness around the treated area afterwards but this generally calms down quite quickly.
In terms of the results, it is important to note that most clients, like myself, only see the full results of the treatment up to 3-6 months after treatment but it all depends on your body. Some clients have seen instant results while others have only started to notice a real difference 3 months after their sessions. As I mentioned, my results were definitely improved by a healthy lifestyle and my centimetre loss can also be attributed to diet and exercise but the visible skin tightening alone was enough to make me a fan of the BTL Exilis Elite. So much so that I’d love to invest in a few sessions to treat the appearance of the cellulite on my thighs and buttocks using the BTL Aesthetics’ other machine, the BTL X-Wave.
