The Galileo Open Air Cinema is Back & We’ve Got the Lineup!

Yay, summer! The warmer weather has hit Cape Town and that means the much-loved summer staple outdoor movie experience, The Galileo Open Air Cinema, is back for another season! Watching a movie under the stars with blankets and popcorn and some yummy food just makes for the perfect summer night out with friends and loved ones, so make sure to give this a try if you haven’t already.

Running from the 17 October to 21 April 2019, from Wednesday to Sunday, this year’s lineup is sure to bring out movies fans both young and old. You’ll be spoilt for choice this year with movies showing all over Cape Town across Cape Town and the winelands. Movie goers can expect Galileo cinemas to pop up at places like the V&A Waterfront, Rustenburg Girls’ High School, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Kenilworth Racecourse, Willowbridge Mall, and Lourensford Wine Estate. There’s also plenty of games, music, drinks and food options with something for everyone, so bring the whole family! Film buffs and outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to an excellent evening out with an awesome showcase of silver screen classics including Dirty Dancing, Grease, La La Land, Me Before You, Back To The Future, and so, so much more!

As always there will be a selection of food vendors offering eats and snacks on the night of each screening and select wine estates will also be offering pre-packed picnics for you to pick up when you arrive. Tickets range from R89 for entry only, to R329 for the couple ‘snuggle’ experience which includes tickets in a reserved area with 2 blankets, 2 pillows, and Frey chocolates. Tickets sell out fast so early booking is essential!
