South African Mom Launches Swimming Cap Line for High-Volume Hairstyles

Most keen swimmers will know that swimming caps are a necessary evil. You might loathe them for making you feel a little like a hairless cat when you hit the water but they’re also a lifesaver when you’re not so keen on ruining your new and oh-so-expensive hair do! Of course for ladies with a little more volume up there – whether from a natural afro, weave, or braids – getting a swimming cap over your locks can be as challenging as trying to squeeze a round ball through a square hole. Fussing about with a teeny tiny swimming cap is the last thing you want to be doing when you’re keen to it the pool and now thanks to a South African mom it’s time to say good-bye to those ridiculously small, impractical swimming caps and hello to volume-friendly Swimma Caps!
Cape Town-based mom, Nomvuyo Treffers designed the range of swimming caps after her own experience with trying to get her two daughters (8 and 10) into watersports. She quickly realised that the swimming caps available in South Africa weren’t going to cut it when she first tried to get them over her daughters’ lovely locks and so Swimma Caps was born.
The swimming caps were designed with high-volume hairstyles like braids, dreadlocks, afros, and more in mind but they can be used by anyone who is looking for a little more give in their swimming cap. And, because Swimma Caps knows that hair doesn’t come in “one size fits all” the caps in the range are available in a variety of colours and sizes options (hallelujah!). There is also a separate range for adults and kids so you know your cap will fit just right no matter your age.
Swimma Caps are available online from the Swimma Cap website starting from R99 for an Afro tots swimming cap. For more information say Hi to Swimma Caps on Facebook.
