South African Cola Alternative Launches with Normal & Sugar-Free Options Available
As the old proverb goes: “‘n boer maak ‘n plan”. And, when South Africans start calling for a homegrown cola brand, well, the okes at Boer Cola heard the call. Yes folks, say bye-bye to US-born cola and hello to proudly South African sodas with Boer Cola, set to take on the market dominated by big international brands such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
Boer Cola was founded in May 2021 by Daan Barnard – born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. After successfully launching Boer Bier in 2020, Daan recognised that the demand from consumers for locally produced products had spilled over to the non-alcoholic beverage industry. For months Daan worked with local labs and beverage scientists to develop Boer Cola – A fun, friendly, and refreshing cola flavoured soft drink for every occasion and for every South African.
All Boer Cola’s products are developed, manufactured, packaged, and marketed locally, and the team is passionate about creating employment opportunities for SA’s youth and supporting local communities with the company.
Boer Cola currently has 300ml cans and 2L bottles of its standard cola, with a 500ml can variant and sugar-free options launching soon.
