South Africa Gets First Open Access Airport Lounge

Great news for avid travelers, South Africa finally has its first open access airport lounge! Travelers jetting to OR Tambo International Airport can now hop off their plane and visit the lounge for a relaxing stop-over before moving on to their next destination or a big meeting in the city. Here’s how the new Sesfikile Premium Arrivals Lounge plans to change the way South Africans and international visitors travel out of Joburg’s biggest airport.

The new lounge is the brainchild of Menzies Aviation and is a first of its kind in South Africa. The new arrivals lounge joins Menzies’ award-winning VIP Shongololo departure lounge and other famous premium lounges in airports across the world. Although arrivals lounges are a regular feature for most international airports many South Africans aren’t accustomed to having it on their local travels.

The VIP lounge will offer passengers stylish interiors as well as drinks and eats before they head on to their next destination. Unlike many lounges in South Africa, that require you to possess a certain credit card or bank account this lounge will be open to all passengers, including walk-in travellers regardless of their airline or class.

In addition to food and drinks the lounge will also offer private showers and bathroom facilities as well as complimentary, high-speed WiFi for the duration of their visit.
