Rovos Rail Introduces Luxury 15-day Trip through Africa

What could be more magical than travelling through Africa on a luxury train? While it might sound like just a dream, Rovos Rail is making it a reality with a brand new 15-day trip through Africa. The luxury train travel company announced the new tour this month and offers travellers the opportunity to do the east-west railway tour down the copper trail for the first time. Departing for the first time in July, 2019, the new Rovos Rail Dar es Salaam to Lobito tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime African travel experience.
Setting off from the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam, the 15-day tour offers guests and opportunity to journey along the copper trail and sees passengers pass through Tanzania, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Angola. The tour includes a game visit in the Selous Reserve, a fly-in two-night safari in the South Luangwa National Park (Zambia) and a city tour of Lubumbashi (DRC). Thereafter it joins the Benguela line for short walking tours detailing Angola’s recent history with journey’s end in Lobito.
The inaugural voyage sets off on 16 July, 2019 from Dar es Salaam to Lobito and is available in reverse departing from Lobito (Angola) on 2 August 2019.
The luxury trip will set you back about R178,0000 for two people sharing and includes your accommodation onboard. Guest will stay in a first-tier air-conditioned room including a bathroom with a shower, a double bed or two singles in an upper and lower bed, as well as minibar and cupboard storage facilities.
