Finding the perfect lipstick shade can be quite the journey. But, finding the perfect shade in a lipstick that will last through countless cups of coffee and a few trips to the snack cupboard, now that’s something akin to the holy grail.

I’ve been in search of the perfect long-lasting liquid lipstick for quite some time now and Revlon’s ColorStay Satin Ink have become my new obsession. I’m always dubious about claims of long-stay lipsticks but this one really does live up to the hype. If you’re looking for full coverage lip colour that resists fading while staying vibrant, then you’ll find it in this luxurious lip colour range.

If you have a busy day ahead, Revlon’s ColorStay Satin Ink range has got your lips covered. The long-wearing formula is surprisingly comfortable for a long-stay lipstick. It’s non-drying and according to Revlon, the lipstick is formulated using flexible colour technology to move with the lips and prevent cracking and fading. Enriched with antioxidant-rich black currant seed oil, your lips feel nourished and supple when the liquid lipstick is applied and it doesn’t dry out your lips after a few hours of wear like many other long-wear options on the market.

It’s also water resistant and smudge-proof, coating the lips in one step for up to 16 hours of comfortable colour. Plus, application is super easy thanks to the soft applicator with its doe-foot pointed tip. You’ll get precise application and even colour distribution every time. Plus, if you add in a great matching ColorStay lipliner, you won’t have any bleeding lines to contend with.

The lipstick has a lovely cream finish and feels super soft on the lips when applied. Upon application, the product has a gloss-like feel which dries down into a satin finish after a few minutes. The lipstick feels very comfortable on the lips, even after it has dried down and sits beautifully on the lips with no flaking or exaggerated lines.

Even better news, if you are yet to find your perfect must-have shade in the range, then you will be thrilled to learn that Revlon has recently announced a shade extension to its best-selling ColorStay Satin Ink range with 10 new high-impact shades.

I’ve been testing the new shades Holy Pumpkin and On a Mission. Holy Pumpkin is a great shade if you’re after a moderately warm-toned, medium copper-like tone while On a Mission is a berry red with a pink undertone. Both shades offer a highly concentrated pigment with vivid colour that pops on the lips. I only need to dip into the lipstick once, and the product covers my entire lip, so you get a full pigment with one swipe every time.

Other new shades in the range include:

• Wild Ride
• Your Majesty
• Holy Pumpkin
• Fired Up
• Black Cherry
• Silky Sienna
• Own It
• Smokin’ Hot
• On a Mission
• Perfect Storm

As for the 16-hour claim; depending on your lifestyle, you will get hours of wear out of these shades. The lipstick lasts well between meals, and even if it does fade due to an onslaught of food and drinks, the colour fades evenly, leaving behind a gorgeous stain. Think of them as a cross between a liquid lipstick and a lip stain, and the stain certainly lasts for 16 hours. For those moments when you do have to reapply, the product glides on easily and doesn’t clump with additional layering.

I also love that the Revlon Satin Ink colors do not bleed at all. The colours did not transfer to my teeth, and remained vibrant throughout the day on multiple occasions. To remove your Revlon long-wearing lipstick, drizzle a few drops of coconut oil onto a cotton pad. Then gently rub over the lips and wait a minute or two. The lipstick should slide off effortlessly.

Keep in mind, that even though the black currant seed oil-enriched formula isn’t drying, it is a good idea to nourish your lips with a good lip balm at night if you’ve been wearing lipstick through the whole day.

If you’re in the market for a long-wearing lipstick then I would highly recommend choosing a shade from this range These liquid lipsticks are opaque, comfortable, easy to apply, and affordable. The shade range is beautiful, and I feel super confident when wearing it knowing my lips will have a splash of colour all day long.
