I popped into Revel for a Deep Tissue Massage followed by a wash and blow-dry and was so impressed with this beautiful space. The salon is a haven of calm, with manicure and pedicure stations perfectly laid out for solo self-care sessions or pamper parties with girlfriends. The noise of the blow-dry bar is cleverly separated from the rest of the salon with a glass partitioning, ensuring your sense of calm and serenity in a treatment room or at the nail stations is never interrupted.
Beynod the nail bar you’ll find a gorgeous covered patio waiting area leading onto the large shaded courtyard and outdoor seating area. This peaceful outdoor area is the ideal place to relax or get some work done if you have time to hang around before or after your treatments. Grab a cup of coffee from Plato and head outside for a catch-up with yourself before heading out into the big wide world again.
Before you jet off, don’t forget to check out the reception for some retail therapy, and a collection of beauty products and stunning local fashion and accessories.
If you’re struggling with sore muscles and tension then I highly recommend booking a Deep Tissue Full Body Massage (60 Mins- R800) at Revel. This heavenly massage involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues and is the perfect remedy for a tired body and mind. I felt completely rejuvenated after this incredible treatment and my only regret is that it wasn’t longer.
After a good rub down, it was time for pampering of a different sort in the Dry Bar. My hair was analysed and then treated with the recommended Authentic Beauty Concept (ABC) shampoo and conditioner for my dehydrated locks. Shampoo done, it was time to pick a style from the Vegan Blow-Dry Menu with an option for a Straight, Wavy, Volume, or Curly blow-dry (R300 for long hair). The treatment was efficient, yet I still felt very pampered with my glass of bubbly in hand. A quick 45 minutes later I was floating back to my car, feeling glamorous and relaxed.
I highly recommend Revel Self-Care Salon to anyone looking for a new beauty hangout for their weekly or monthly beautifying treatments. It’s also a great stop on a girls’ day out with friends in Stellenbosch or a destination for a pamper party when celebrating a special occasion.
