New Joburg Lunchtime Spot Offers Comfort Food for Hungry Tummies.

If you run out the door every morning, giving very little thought to breakfast or lunch later that day then you need to listen up. A new breakfast and lunchtime spot has opened its doors in the heart of Sandton with the promise of providing nutritious comfort food to the office workers of Sandton and beyond. Thanks to The Nook, skipping the most important meal of the day, or any other for that matter, can now be a thing of the past! Here’s the low-down on this new deli and takeaway spot.
Nestled in Legacy Corner (near Sandton Square) in Sandton, The Nook with its fresh green and white décor offers hungry diners a laid-back spot to grab a bite on the go. The eat-in or take away meals on the rather small menu can best be described as quick, comfort food that’s wholesome, hearty, nutritious and delicious. The menu might be small, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t be spoiled for choice – Chef Mark Hober is set to change the menu every six weeks, to make way for fresh ingredients and new ideas. We love that The Nook is all about fresh – many of the ingredients used in the eatery are organically farmed and sourced daily.
Breakfast choices at this new spot are generally healthy with fruit cups, smoothies and yoghurt parfaits at the top of the list. Of course, for those of you who like a baked treat, there are still fresh pastries on offer. And, what’s breakfast without a caffeine fix? All hot drinks at The Nook are served in a fancy-pants floating mug – making it fun and delicious.
For lunch, there is a bunch of comfort food classics such as homemade pie, soup and dombolo, lasagne, pizza slices, pap and crispy potatoes. If that doesn’t float your boat then try the salad of the day options like the roasted veggie salad and Moroccan chicken & CousCous salad. For those who like variety and mixing things up – the ‘Build Your Box’ meal at R50 is a value for money option that allows customers to choose a starch, one meat, one vegetable and one salad in one box.
The Nook is open 7 days a week from 07:00 – 18:00. For more information say Hi to The Nook on Facebook.
