Home Made Easy

If you’re a DIY fundie then you’re going to want to tune into The Home Channel (DSTV 176) every Wednesday to catch new show, Home Made Easy featuring Builders DIY presenter, Ryan Paulsen. After a 9-week nationwide search for ‘the sharpest tool in the box’, Ryan Paulsen was announced as the Builders DIY presenter for 2017 and now joins South Africa’s favourite gardener Tanya Visser, and DIY enthusiast and presenter Elle Franco, to host the first season of Home Made Easy. The brand new show premiered on 8 March 2017, at 20:00 and is all about simplifying home improvement, gardening and décor. In addition to being able to follow easy how-to guides from presenters, viewers will also stand the chance to win big with Home Made Easy and Builders throughout the season.

Speaking about his new role as a DIY presenter, Paulsen, who hails from Roodepoort in Johannesburg, says he never imagined his passion would turn into his dream job. “I have always had an affinity for DIY since a very young age. As I grew older, I learnt lessons about auto-body repair, leather upholstery, audio visual installation, woodwork and carpentry, metal fabrication and welding as well as acrylic and plastic work,” explains Paulsen “But never in a million years did I imagine that what began as a 5-year-old disassembling and re‐assembling toys as a personal challenge to understand how they were put together would lead to my ultimate dream job.”

Home Made Easy will encourage viewer interaction through sharing of projects online and the submission of DIY related questions and will see Paulsen, Visser, and Franco tackle various DIY tasks head on. Viewer questions will be addressed during the show and will help viewers to learn their way around a toolbox and develop a passion for building, making and fixing things around the home, at the fraction of the price of calling in a professional.

But that’s not all. Each week, courtesy of Builders, viewers will also have the opportunity to win a product featured on the show, to help them achieve their DIY dreams. This weekly competition will culminate in one lucky viewer being crowned DIYer of the season – winning a whopping R10 000 Builders voucher!
