If you’re looking for a new spot to relax with a cocktail in Cape Town this summer then you’re going to love the new addition to the Camps Bay strip. New rooftop bar, Chinchilla in Camps Bay offers a relaxed but oh-so-stylish atmosphere for locals and tourists alike to kick off their shoes and soak up the breathtaking views of Camps Bay beach below.

Located above its Kove Collection sibling Zenzero, the new spot offers dinners a spectacular location from which to enjoy a delicious nibble and sip while soaking up some sunshine and breathing in the crisp sea air. The decor at Chinchilla is laid back and screams luxury beach resort vibes. It’s the perfect place to take out of town guests or for Capetonians to feel like they’re on holiday, if only for a little while!

On the menu, you can expect delights like prawn cocktail, beef carpaccio, fresh oysters and a Caprese salad for starters and grilled prawns, steak bearnaise, black mussels, and burgers for mains. For something sweet try the chocolate brownie with ice-cream, creme brûlée or seasonal fruit desserts.

Of course, you can’t visit without having a cocktail or two and the cocktail menu offers a wide variety of delights mixed and muddled by the in-house mixologists. For something a little bit different try the Drill or No Drill (gin, Elderflower syrup, fresh cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and sea salt – R80) or the Lollies that Make me Jolly (sorbet ice lolly and sparkling wine – R130).
