New Italian Eatery, Septimo Opens in Sandton’s Mandela Square

If you’re looking for a fun, vibey and contemporary Italian place to dine out, then Septimo in Sandton is the new place to be. Septimo, meaning seventh, opened its doors on the 7th of the 7th, 2017 at Sandton’s Mandela Square and is the perfect spot for a relaxed bite or swish sundowners.
Septimo, run by restaurateurs Andreas Kaiafas and Paul Lycos from the US and Martin Louw from SA, is an international-standard Italian eatery with cuisine prepared by Chef Nikita Zoulis who has the uncanny ability to transform a concept into a dish. His menu is small, seasonal and sustainable with most of the ingredients on the menu able to be traced back to their source.
The industrial-looking copper and concrete space is sophisticated and stylish, and since the venue itself is multi-purpose, you can pop over to the New York-style Italian deli for some freshly baked bread, dine at the chef’s table for a view of the open kitchen, or recline at the uber sexy bar for a cocktail or two. You can also opt to sit out on the patio and people-watch while you enjoy a long, leisurely lunch.
Expect divine, well-priced Italian eats like aperitivo including chargrilled octopus, mains including thin-crust, woodfired pizzas, and homemade pasta, as well as indulgent desserts like flourless Italian chocolate torte. Yum!
