4 Must-have Winter Boots and How to Style Them!

After years of working as an Editor and writer for…
Did you know this past weekend officially marked the beginning of Autumn? Yup, colder days are coming and to be honest, we’re probably a little more excited than we should be. Yes, being able to swan around in flip flops and a T-shirt in summer is fantastic but let’s face it; winter clothes are pretty incredible too! Nothing beats wrapping up in a cosy jersey on a rainy day or feeling snug and warm in a scarf and your favourite pair of boots. So, to celebrate the magic of winter clothes we went in search of some killer winter boots that we knew you would love. And then, we took it one step further and styled them for you too! Here are 4 must-have winter boots to invest in this coming season.
The classic knee-high boot
If you only invest in one pair of boots this winter, make it a pair of classic knee high boots. I prefer brown because it’s a little more sophisticated and goes with almost everything in my wardrobe but a black knee high boot can be just as versatile. I love this Ant knee-high boot in brown from Jeep Footwear. It’s simple and super easy to style, making it the perfect companion for leggings, skinny jeans, dresses and more. I love the buckle detail on the boot as well.
I styled my Jeep knee-high boots with a pair of basic grey leggings, a black extra-length tank top, and a grey and white jersey coat. I kept my accessories simple and threw on a white statement necklace to up the glam factor a little so it was appropriate for a lunchtime work meeting or dinner with friends.

The cosy fur-lined boot
Winter is all about comfort but there’s no reason you can’t be comfortable and oh-so-chic at the same time! I’m all about fur-lined boots this winter and I cannot wait for the weather to cool down enough so I can wear these absolutely awesome Racoon fur-lined boots from Jeep Footwear more often. Wear the furry tongue down to add a more cosy look to your outfit on a rainy day. This boot comes in honey (my favourite!) and khaki and is perfect for traipsing around in the rain and cold this winter.
I paired mine with a pair of black skinny jeans, a slouchy white T-shirt, and a brown faux leather jacket. I kept my accessories limited once again and opted for a simple two-tiered drop necklace but this can also be substituted for a chunky scarf on a colder day. This look is perfect for a casual lunch with friends, a weekend shopping trip, or even a day of adventure in the winelands or Magaliesburg.

The ultra-comfortable UGG boot:
That’s right ladies, the oh-so-awesome UGG is here to stay and while many may hate this super comfy shoe, there’s no denying that it’s the best thing ever on a freezing cold day. I love this Falcon ankle UGG boot from Jeep Footwear because it’s a little more stylish than your basic UGG and it’s the most comfortable shoe in the history of ever. The inside of this fur-lined shoe feels as soft as a babies bottom and is warmer than warm. The boot comes in brown and tan.
I paired mine with a basic pair of black skinny jeans, a grey long-sleeved T-shirt and a black puffer vest for a super comfy day look. Wear this outfit to lunch with friends on a rainy day, out shopping, on a winter weekend away, or while sipping wine on the patio with your special someone.

The tough combat boot:
Trust me, you’re going to want to invest in a pair of combat boots this winter. They’re great for pairing with girly dresses, flowy skirts and feminine blouses as they add a little bit of edge to an otherwise too flouncy outfit. I love these black Gheko ankle boots from Jeep Footwear because they’re comfy and edgy but not too clunky or masculine. This boot comes in a wide range of colours including black, beige, honey, and pink.
I paired mine with an ultra feminine floral print dress and a denim shirt as a cover-up. This look is perfect for those winter days when the sun is out and you still want to show a little leg without being too cold. You can make it a little more warm and cosy with a pair of nude coloured tights and thicker socks if you like. Once again I kept the accessories basic and added some stacking bracelets, a drop necklace and an over-the-shoulder bag. This look is great for a warmish Sunday spent exploring the markets, wine tasting, or even lunch with friends.

All of the boots featured in our winter boot collection are from Jeep Footwear South Africa. The boots are available from select Stuttafords and Edgars stores nationwide as well as from various other stockists around South Africa. For a full list of stockists visit the Jeep Footwear website.
