MRP spring summer 2016

Spring is on its way (hallelujah!) which means it’s time to start shopping for the change-of-season. Revamping your wardrobe is the best thing ever and the great news is that being on trend won’t cost you a pretty penny this spring-summer! My favourite penny-wise fashion retailer, MRP have unveiled their Spring 2016 range, and it’s making me super excited for warmer days. I got the chance to check out the range first hand and decided to share my very favourite picks with you all so you know exactly what to click on or reach for when you shop at MRP this summer. These are My Favourite Things from the MRP Spring/Summer 2016 Collection!

Show some shoulder:

MRP spring summer 2016
Dress: MRP Oakridge – R129.99 (available Aug 2016) | Shoes: MRP, previous season | Handbag: MRP (July 2016).

There’s no doubt about it; I am OBSESSED with this black MRP Oakridge dress. Just look at it, how could I not be? It’s delightfully beautiful gems like this that make me love MRP and I’m sure I will be wearing this little number all summer long – from weddings to lazy Sunday lunches, this little darling is going be a popular go-to for me. This time around I paired it with a pair of rope wedges, simple jewellery, and a summer inspired handbag – I like to think of it as my “ladies who lunch’ look. The neckline of this dress is super versatile and you can wear it off the shoulder or up to create a scoop-style neckline and you can, of course, dress it up a little bit more for a fancier occasion.

This dress is available in sizes 32 – 44 from R129.99 – click here to buy it online now.

The absolute bomb!

Jacket: MRP Bomber – R249.99 (Available Sept 2016) | Top: Tank Top, H&M | Jeans: MRP – R199.99 (Avail Sept 2016) | Shoes: MRP, previous season.

Great news, bomber jackets are back! That’s right, it’s time to let your 90s flag fly proudly. As a little girl I begged my mom for a bomber jacket, all my friends had one, but sadly my day never came… until now! I’m treating the little 12-year-old fashionista inside me by rocking this super cute bomber from MRP super often and I’m loving it. I also love that MRP have updated the usually garish bomber jacket with loads of chic designs and fabulous colours so you to give it a modern twist. This black bomber with ruffle detail is a great choice if you’re looking for something subtle and chic but they will have loads more, super colourful design in store as well. I paired it with one of my favourite pair of MRP denims from the new spring-summer season and a brightly coloured tank top to make it pop.

A floral affair!

Dress: MRP – R139.99 (Available, Aug 2016) | Cardigan: H&M | Shoes: MRP, previous season.

I can’t get enough of this tropical print dress! Floral prints are going to be all the rage this spring-summer and I for one am super excited. This scuba-style dress is great for curvy gals and clings to you in all the right places to create a sexy and sassy look. I paired mine with a pair of wedge ankle boots, a flowy cardigan, and simple jewelry to create a flirty but pretty look that is perfect for adventures in the sunshine.

What my boyfriend wore:

Jeans: MRP – R229.99 (Available Sept 2016) | Tank Top: MRP – R59.99 | Handbag: R99.99 (Available July 2016) | Shoes: MRP, previous season.

Boyfriend jeans are every girl’s best friend, forget skinny jeans, if you plan to get festive this summer then these jeans will flatter the heck out of your legs while still leaving you plenty of space to eat, drink, and be merry! I’m a huge fan of the slit-and-cut detail on the legs as they add a bit of a sassy- sexy factor to what could otherwise be dowdy jeans. I love to jazz mine up a little with a pair of bright high heels while still keeping it super chilled with a slouchy tank top and a cheeky handbag. This is a great summer look for those days when you want to up the glam factor but you could also toss the heels in favour of a pair of pumps or your fanciest sneakers for a more casual look.

Comfortable yet stylish:

Dress: MRP – R119.99 | Jacket: MRP, previous season | Boots: MRP, previous season.

This casual-chic fit & flare shirt dress is the ultimate in comfort and is pretty much the closest thing to fat pants you can find in a dress. It’s super comfortable and is a great find if you’re a jeans and T-shirt kind of gal, like me. It’s also on trend with the ditsy floral print that’s all the rage right now so you won’t be accused of being boring or dowdy. I decided to pair it with a pair of ankle boots and a slouchy jacket to give it a cool, edgy kind of feel but you could also pair it with a pair of sneakers for an even more comfy-casual look. I absolutely love the colour of this dress and I can imagine myself spending many an hour wearing it while on picnics in the park or on date nights with the boyfriend.
