This Is Not a Drill – A Hot Tub Cinema Is Opening in Cape Town!
Attention movie lovers, this is not a drill – a hot tub cinema is officially coming to South Africa this year! Yes, that’s right, we the people of sunny South Africa will be able to watch intimate screenings of classic movies from the comfort of a jacuzzi! All we can say is; “there is a god!” We’ve got all the info on Movie Tub and their upcoming screenings so keep reading to find out how you can get involved in what can only be explained as the best movie viewing of your life.
The unique hot tub cinema will be launching with events in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs in November this year, with screenings said to start on Tuesday 24th November 2015. The Movie Tub Facebook page also promises to offer screenings in Durbanville Cape Town soon. So far the schedule on their Facebook event lists such screenings as American Pie on 27 November, The Hangover on 28 November, Mean Girls on 3rd December, Project X on 4 December, Wolf of Wall Street on 5 December and Catch Me if You Can on 6 December. There’s also a ‘vote for your favourite movie’ screening on 2 December.
With more screenings to be announced soon this super cool cinema offers you the chance to chill with 7 other people in a hot while watching a series of classic movies from back in the day. Tickets for the screenings will soon be available from NuTickets and are priced at R350 per person for a single ticket, R2100 for a private tub for up to 6 people, or R2800 for a private tub for up to 8 people.
And, if you’re not based in Cape Town and can’t think of anything worse than missing out on these Movie Tub events then fear not because the organisers have plans to host screenings in Joburg, Pretoria and Durban in 2016!
