Mouille Point Favourite, Sotano Opens Second Branch on Bree Street

Great news for foodies and socialites, much loved Mouille Point restaurant Sotano has opened a second branch in the city bowl! The seaside eatery is a popular spot for sundowners and tapas but in summer you often struggle to find a table which is why this new addition is so exciting. Located on Cape Town’s buzzing Bree Street, Sotano on Bree has taken over the space previously occupied by The Odyssey Gastropub, and promises to offer diners the same delicious tapas, great cocktails, and laid-back vibe as its sister restaurant by the seaside.
The new addition to the Sotano family has a much cosier feel to it than the original branch, with the decor leaning towards an industrial chic vibe rather than the seaside chic look favoured at the Mouille Point location. Downstairs you’ll find a large bar area with plenty of room to enjoy a drink, or three, with your mates. In summer the bar area will spill out onto the curb outside, allowing you to soak up the Bree Street vibe in all its glory. If it’s food you want, then the chic upstairs area, with booth-style seating is where you’ll want to be.
Pop in for brunch and tuck into classics like French toast, bagels with a variety of toppings, or eggs Benedict. For lunch and dinner the eatery offers a a selection of tapas as well as sushi, salads, soups and plenty of mains. The signature Sotano lamb burger is a must-try if you’re hungry and need to keep the wolves at bay but, because we’re in Cape Town, you also can’t go wrong with a delicious seafood main like classic fish and chips.
