Man Crush Monday: Lions Rugby Player, Robbie Coetzee Loves the Outdoors!
Playing for the Lions rugby team, he’s a force to be reckoned with on the rugby field, but there’s no doubt Robbie is our Man Crush Monday on AND off the field. We caught up with the gentle giant to get to know who Robbie really is.

RC: Ambitious; Driven; Kind; Supportive; Loyal!
What’s your idea of the perfect date?
RC: To have a great cup of coffee overlooking a beautiful view and watching the sunset.
When you were little you wanted to be…
I always wanted to be great in everything I participated in, however, I have been passionate about sports from a young age so aspired to be a great rugby player.
Your biggest relationship deal breaker (or turn off) is…
A girl who does not how to communicate, and occasionally let loose. There’s nothing better than being with someone who knows how to live life to the fullest and have fun!
What do you like to do for fun or to relax?
I love the outdoors, so a round of golf or to even spend a day on the water, fishing.
If you could instantly download three skills or super powers like an app what would they be?
I would like to have the ability to read people’s minds and emotions. To speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and to stop time.
Right now, what are you completely obsessed with?
I love bikes! Motorcycles, mountain bikes – BIKES BIKES BIKES!
What would people be surprised to know about you?
People would be surprised to know that I enjoy shopping, and I am definitely a control freak and need things to go as according to plan. I am also the ambassador for Captured in Africa Foundation – which stands against Canned Hunting. Captured In Africa Foundation work hard to dispel the myth that captive lions benefit conservation and can be released to restock reserves. The most important thing is to educate the world at large that lions should be born wild and remain in the wild, so the most important thing is to preserve our wild spaces & the animals that live there.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I would say to achieve big things in my sporting career. Every time I take to the field, I am grateful for the opportunity! I would like to grow my personal relationships and self-being.
What can’t you live without?
Google Maps. My internal GPS is a disaster!

Favourite go-to place? Life Day Spa for a pamper day, as they give the best sports massages.
Favourite holiday destination? Strand, in Cape Town.
Favourite sportsman? Tiger Woods – I love everything golf – playing golf, watching golf, you name it!
Favourite drink? Pineapple & Coconut flavoured wine cooler from Woolworths and Red Bull for my training sessions.
Must have travel accessory? Samsonite luggage – mine goes with me everywhere.
