Liam Tomlin Opens Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic

Great news for foodies, chef Liam Tomlin’s Chefs Warehouse opens today at Cape Town’s Tintswalo Atlantic. The unique oceanside location of Cape Town’s iconic boutique hotel on Chapman’s Peak Drive offers an exciting new way for fans of Chefs Warehouse to enjoy Tomlin’s cuisine.
The newest addition to the Chefs Warehouse family, the restaurant at Tintswalo Atlantic opened its doors on Monday 2 November 2020. The restaurant is headed up by General Manager Jami de Witt and Head Chef Braam Beyers, who both moved over from Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia, under the guidance of Liam Tomlin and Chef Patron Ivor Jones.
Speaking about the new space Liam Tomlin says: ‘When I first walked into this incredible space, I knew that a Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic was a no brainer. This location is surely one of the best dining rooms in South Africa, if not the entire world. It is a dream come true to have a Chefs Warehouse not only close to, but right on the ocean, to complete our package of restaurants in the Cape winelands and the city. I’m very excited also by the opportunity for Jami and Braam to have their own space to work from, and to use this breathtaking location as inspiration to create a menu that will no doubt pay homage to the ocean.’
Tintswalo Atlantic’s existing restaurant area and deck has undergone a complete design revamp to incorporate the Chefs Warehouse signature and personality, ranging from furniture and décor, to tableware. Starting 2 November, the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner reservations seven days a week.
As for the menu, Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic continues Tomlin’s ‘fine-dining quality global tapas’ concept, serving produce-driven ‘Tapas for 2’. The menu offers small plates for sharing in 4 courses at a cost of R1,500 for two people. A cheese course and a selection of dessert may be ordered in addition to the eight seasonal small plates.
For the menu, the team chose ingredients that are fresh, local and sustainable paying homage to the ocean at their doorstep. The Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic website promises that, as with its sister restaurants, the famed oysters and risotto will always be on the menu. There is also a vegetarian menu on offer for those who don’t eat meat.
Opening hours are from Monday to Sunday 12:00 – 14:00 for lunch and 18:00 – 20:30 for dinner (dinner is at 18:30 on a Sunday. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing tintswalo@chefswarehouse.co.za.
