Joburg’s Popular La Vie en Rose Relocates to Custom-Built Space in Killarney!
Exciting news, one of my favourite Joburg restaurants, the oh-so-charming La Vie en Rose has a new home! The modern and wonderfully expansive space at Killarney Country Club was custom-built for the restaurant and will ensure that they can accommodate more guests and even better functions. I absolutely adore La Vie en Rose but one of the things I dislike about it is that they’re always fully booked (apparently everyone else loves it just as much as I do). But, now that they have more space both inside and outside you’re more likely to be able to grab a table for Saturday afternoon lunch or a lazy Sunday brunch. I got the chance to check out the new space last night and I am super excited to spend more time there in the coming months. Here’s the low-down on the new and fabulous KCC La Vie en Rose.
KCC La Vie en Rose offers guests the same indoor-outdoor feel, that regulars had come to love about the previous Illovo location and of course, owners Rony and Yanky are still all-hands-on-deck so they haven’t lost that owner-run feel. The only difference is there’s more La Vi en Rose to love! Lush lawns, beautiful trees adorned with fairy lights, floor-to-ceiling windows, stacking doors that open up onto a breathtaking garden space, and a stylish new look and feel all come together to make the new 238m2 space a huge success.
But what about the food? The menu is due to get a revamp quite soon but Rony promises that regulars will still be able to find their favourites on the menu – so there’s no need to say goodbye to crowd pleasers such as the deep fried Toblerone or their famous homemade burgers. Guests can expect to see a few new sensations that will be sure to tickle your tastebuds on the menu in the coming weeks and I can’t wait to try them out.
I also love that La Vie is now even more equipped to host special occasions and events. The new garden area lends itself to occasions both big and small so whether you’re looking to tie the knot at the popular eatery or host a swanky cocktail party they’re ready to entertain and delight you. Heck, there’s even a free-standing stage (fully powered and finished in wood and tile) for guests to use for events!
KCC La Vie en Rose is open 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday. On Mondays trading hours are 07:00 – 16:00 while from Tuesday to Sunday the restaurant welcomes diners from 07:00 – 2200. Parties, showers, celebrations and corporates welcome.
