Krispy Kreme Opens in Cape Town – Location Revealed!
Great news for Capetonians with a sweet tooth, Krispy Kreme is finally coming to Cape Town! Krispy Kreme’s first South African store opened its doors in Joburg way back in 2015, but Capetonians are yet to get at a taste of this sweet international import. Luckily the wait is almost over as the doughnut giant is set to open its first Krispy Kreme Cape Town store this September!
Setting up shop at the V&A Waterfront, Krispy Kreme will open its first Cape Town store on Tuesday 10 September, with more stores to follow in the coming months. While Dunkin Donuts may not have had very much success in the Cape, we suspect Kripsy Kreme will fare a lot better with fussy Capetonians.
Those who have tried, and loved, Krispy Kreme doughnuts overseas will be thrilled to hear that they’re just as delicious in South Africa as you remember them being. If you’ve never tried a Krispy Kreme doughnut then get ready to experience a taste sensation because they are beyond yummy. These melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts are very different from the style of doughnut we currently have available in Cape Town, which is probably why the chain has grown from strength to strength in Joburg over the last few years.
The new Krispy Kreme Cape Town store will offer a wide range of flavours including chocolate iced custard (a chocolate dipped donut with a custard centre), sugar-coated (a simple cinnamon sugar-coated donut), original glazed (a basic syrup glazed donut), caramel Kreme crunch (a chocolate and nut dipped donut), peanut butter with chocolate drizzle (a peanut butter and chocolate-dipped donut), cinnamon apple (a cinnamon-dipped donut with apple centre), and Cookies and Kreme. There’s a wide range to choose from and customers are sure to find their favourites very soon.
In addition to the doughnuts, Krispy Kreme South Africa also offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks. Choose from a range of hot drinks including cappuccino, Cafe Latte, Caramel flavoured latte, Chai latte, and white hot chocolate. The drinks menu also offers delicious iced Chillers. Kremey Chillers include flavours like coffee, choc mint, peanut butter & banana, white chocolate, mixed berry, and mango. For something iced cold choose a frozen dairy-free Chiller – the list includes a mixed berry, mango, passion fruit and tropical.
