Joining FitKey is Now Even Easier Thanks to New, More Flexible & Affordable Plans!

Last year October I told you all about how I cancelled my gym membership. As much as I enjoyed the whole business of never going to the gym but still giving said gym my hard earned Rands every month I realised that the relationship just wasn’t working out so I called them up and politely said; “It’s not me, it’s you.” Now, almost a year later, and still gym free, I couldn’t be happier. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t exercise anymore – in fact, I’m fitter than ever! You see, I’m more of a studio girl who enjoys leaving it all at the door for an hour-long class with no distractions and plenty of guidance so I signed up for FitKey and instead of committing to just one gym I now get access to thousands of class options at a huge variety of studios across my city. From Yoga and Pilates to HIIT, Boxing, Crossfit, and even Boot Camp, I can do it all. And, the great news is, thanks to a new price plan structure, FitKey is now even more accessible than ever before!

The new plan structure offers FitKey memberships starting from as little as R295 per month so you now have the opportunity to try it out and see how it works for you before taking the plunge and FINALLY cancelling that boring old, unnecessary gym membership. Plus, there are no joining fees so you can simply sign up, see if you like it, and cancel if you realise it’s not for you. I don’t know about you but when it comes to businesses taking money from my account every month I’m a little afraid of commitment and while everyone else is trying to lock you into a 24-month contract FitKey is all about letting you fly free. Sure, your membership renews automatically every month but you can request to cancel your membership 3 days before the start of your next billing cycle and you can even put your membership on hold for just R49 per month.

Choose what works for you

I love the new FitKey membership options because they offer you the opportunity to choose how much you spend every month based on how often you know you will realistically work out and you can easily switch and change between the membership options as you need to. If you’re a busy gal (or you know you’re going away for most of the month on holiday) then choose FitKey3 which enables you to attend up to 3 classes per month at any of the FitKey studios. Want a little more? Try FitKey5 for R395 per month and attend up to 5 classes at any of the FitKey studios per month. For fitness fundi’s who love to work out often, there’s FitKey10 at R695 per month or FitKey Unlimited at R995 per month which enables you to attend as many classes as you’d like per month at any FitKey studio partners, limited to 3 bookings per studio per month.

If you’re a studio bunny like me then you’ll know that most yoga, pilates, and other fitness studios charge anywhere between R120 and R190 per class and between R800 and R1500 for unlimited studio memberships so you’ll save money no matter which plan you sign up for. I personally love the FitKey10 because it allows you to get a work out in twice a week with a little bit extra should you desperately need an extra yoga or boxing class after a stressful week. For me, it’s also the most realistic plan for people who don’t live in the gym and it can save you up to R800 a month!

Variety is the spice of life

While most gym and studio memberships force you to pick one thing and stick with it, FitKey is all about embracing variety. It’s the ideal choice for those of us who like to try new things and who get bored doing the same old workouts day-in-and-day-out. What’s more, the FitKey system couldn’t be easier to use. Members get access to the FitKey website and app where they can book various classes hours, days, or weeks in advance. To find a class you want to take part in you simply use the class filter system and search classes by date, time, studio, or workout type. Once you’ve found a class that meets your fancy you simply click ‘Reserve a Spot’ and that’s it. All that’s left for you to do is rock up 15 minutes before the class and let reception know you’ve booked with FitKey.

Another plus is that the studios are located all over the country. I am based in Cape Town and found loads of studios near my home and work. I even used the app to find studios near my accommodation when I was in Joburg on a week-long work trip. Right now FitKey covers Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Stellenbosch and Somerset West and are growing rapidly to expand into the rest of the country soon. FitKey really has changed the way I exercise and, to be honest, I’m still trying to figure out how a deal this good exists. I’m so convinced about it that I tell anyone and everyone who will listen and have already converted two friends to sign up with me (because no-one likes to exercise alone).
