Joburg’s Iconic Zoo Lake Bowls Club Reopens its Doors

Joburgers will be glad to know that the iconic Zoo Lake Bowls Club has undergone a bit of a resurrection and will soon open its doors to the public once again, following its closure in 2014. The Zoo Lake Bowling Club, a Johannesburg institution for 80 years, was shut down in 2014, depriving locals of an affordable, centralised, and casual venue for social meet-ups. It was a favourite watering hole for many looking for affordable grub and drinks and locals couldn’t be more excited about its return.

Announced via the official Facebook page, the Zoo Lake Bowls Club will be hosting a reopening event tonight on Friday, 26 May 2017 and there’s no doubt that you want to be there for the reopening. “Zoolake Bowls is back and proud to announce that doors will officially be open to the public this Friday,” reads the official event description.

For music lovers there’s will be loads of entertainment at the new venue so make sure you stay tuned to the Facebook page for information on upcoming live acts and other events. To kicks things off, the venue will be hosting local band Felt Fire on Saturday, 27 May 2017.
