Jamie Oliver’s, Jamie’s Italian is Indeed Coming to South Africa Soon!

Get excited foodies, because this is NOT a drill – Jamie Oliver’s fabulous collection of Italian restaurants is finally coming to South Africa! While Jamie’s people might be keeping mum on the exact details we have it on good authority that a branch of the Jamie’s Italian franchise will be opening in Johannesburg very soon! Here are the details so far!
While previous rumours were all about the famous UK chef opening a branch of Jamie’s Italian at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, it looks like the City of Gold may have stolen the crown and beat Cape Town to it. Both the V&A and Jamie’s PR team revealed that there were no immediate plans to open a restaurant in Cape Town and South Africa wept.
But it does seem that the Johannesburg restaurant is a go for sure – according to Melrose Arch that is. The chic shopping centre confirmed the opening of Jamie’s Italian Melrose Arch on their Twitter account and we almost fell off our chairs with excitement. See the tweet below.
@thejoburgfoodie You are correct! We are very excited to be welcoming Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver… Further details to follow shortly

According to Eat Out, communication director of Jamie’s Italian, Louise Ludlum also confirmed that a Jamie’s Italian would be opening in Joburg soon; “We’re looking into the prospect of bringing Jamie’s Italian to South Africa and are currently in discussions to make this happen. Johannesburg is a vibrant, thriving city with the perfect profile for Jamie’s Italian so we’re really excited about this great opportunity for us. Finding an amazing location is always a key priority and although there’s nothing to confirm at the moment, we will communicate all details as soon as we can.”
That’s right people, get ready to put on your stretchy pants because you’re going to want to eat all the food! Stay tuned to WomenStuff for more details on Jamie’s Italian South Africa in the future.
