After years of working as an Editor and writer for…
I’ve always been a bit of a homebody … because let’s face it; there’s nothing better than vegging out on the couch with a cosy blanket and a chai latte. Of course, it helps if your home is a place of beauty. Having a home filled with beautiful things you absolutely love is a key step to wanting to stay home, and often. And I don’t want to hear excuses about how small your home is. Any space, no matter how small or big can be made into a luxurious escape for the people who live there – you just need to know where to shop and who to speak to for advice. But what if you don’t have the time to shop for beautiful things? Well then, saddle up ladies because I’m about to share a little secret with you all! Isabelina, my most favourite décor store in the history of ever, is making it even easier to shop for all your decor needs with the launch of the incredible new Isabelina website. With their help, great style is just a click away and I couldn’t be more excited!
I first fell in love with Isabelina when I visited their stores in Joburg and Cape Town a few years ago. Stepping into one of their stores is like being hit in the face by beauty and elegance. In fact, their stores are so incredibly gorgeous that for a second you will wish that you could just pack up all your things and move there instead. But what if you can’t be bothered to leave the house (I can relate!) and just want to research or shop for stuff online without leaving your couch? Just visit the Isabelina website silly! I am totally besotted with their stores but was super excited to find that visiting their new website has the same effect one me as stepping into one of their stores (phew!)
The website is super easy to use and you can browse all sorts of different decor items without even having to change out of your silk pyjamas. From Isabelina’s legendary collection of mirrors and chandeliers to furniture and homeware items, the new Isabelina website has it all. Over the past 6 years, Isabelina has carved a name for itself as the go-to spot for unique décor, lighting, furniture and gifting items. There’s a reason the store is known in design circles as the place where interior designers shop.
Another thing I love about Isabelina is that they are always ahead of the curve, with items that showcase the latest trends from around the world. Visit an Isabelina store, or now, their website and you will find loads of on-trend items that haven’t even hit other South African stores yet. They also stock a few imported and local ranges that are exclusive to Isabelina so you can be sure that your nosey friend Dee won’t be able to copy your style … again!
Once you’ve browsed the site and decided what you’re going to blow this month’s budget on you can simply create a wishlist on the site and a friendly Isabelina representative will get back to you about making your chosen items your very own. Alas you can’t order online but you can browse and plan the room of your dreams with just a few clicks. My wishlist is growing pretty quickly and I’ve already added a Large Silk Orchid Arrangement (Isabelina is famous for their silk flower arrangements), a black-and-white striped ceramic vase, and a Geometric Copper Table Lamp to my list. You can see my wishlist in the picture below.

And, if you’re not sure what types of things you should be shopping for then just pop on over to owner, Judith’s blog for all sorts of design inspiration, décor tips, and trend alerts. All the collections at Isabelina are designed and sourced by owners Francis and Judith Matthews, and backed up by a strong team of product designers and orignators so you can be sure you’ll get great advice from the team. Of course, if you really don’t know what you’re doing then you can chat to their in-house interior design team who can help you with everything from reupholstering furniture to carrying out a full interior design project.
