Innovative BlackBrick Hotel Opens in Joburg

The way people live, and work is changing. The rise of flexi-hour workdays, hot-desking and mobility means that people have different requirements when it comes to their homes… and travel accommodation too. That’s where Johannesburg’s latest hotel project comes in. An innovative way of looking at hotel accommodation, Joburg’s new BlackBrick Hotel promises to cater to this idea of flexible living.
Forming part of the BlackBrick Club, the BlackBrick Hotel offers a contemporary place for guests to rest their head when travelling to Johannesburg. BlackBrick are currently developing a collection of vertical villages offering members the opportunity to own, rent, or stay and become an instant BlackBrick club member.
The BlackBrick Hotel is an extension of this idea and is here to service changing needs, catering to the likes of the urban dweller, world traveller and local entrepreneur. By fusing travel, leisure, work and life together in a Vertical Village, this hotel is like nothing you have experienced before.
This Vertical Village offers guests so much more than just a place to spend the night; the BlackBrick team invites guests to check-in and experience the wonders of never having to leave your hotel. Complete with workspaces, a cinema, a meditation garden, two restaurants and a fully equipped gym, this hotel offers something for the mind, body and soul.
“We see BlackBrick as the future of flexible living, where members will be able to move freely between cities on both a short and long-term basis”, says BlackBrick’s Moritz Wellensiek. Wellensiek explains that he conceptualized BlackBrick in response to the frustration of being an entrepreneur from a young age and not having had supporting infrastructure to do business and life on the go. “Achieving excellence in your craft and keeping a balanced life is hard when you don’t have the right tools, environment and network,” says Wellensiek.
Which is why BlackBrick strives to give members everything they need to work and play at an accessible price. The ’24 Hour Package’: ‘Stay 24 Hours. Leave Evolved’ is the personification of these principles. Pick this package and receive a one night’s stay in an apartment suite (with a full kitchen), one class of your choice (mindfulness, boxing or yoga), a rooftop dinner with DJ, free use of the gym and brunch at the Sesame Café all for R1,500 per person per night.
Better yet, during the month of November, BlackBrick is offering stays at a 30% discount to normal rates, inviting staycationers to stay for R595 per night to test drive the product in a confident effort to convince guests to become a member of the Club.
BlackBrick Hotel, Sandton is located 800m from the Sandton Gautrain station and 400m from the ICC at 25 Fredman Drive, Sandton.
