Huawei Watch Fit — A Fitness Tracker That’s More Than a Shiny Watch

Huawei Watch Fit is a smartwatch that features great fitness tracking capabilities, but the fact is that it’s a whole lot more than that too.

It’s easy to look at Watch Fit as a fitness tracker with a couple of smartwatch characteristics, but the Watch Fit is a worthy tracker that looks stellar and is easy to utilise, while also delivering everything and more that your average smartwatch does; and all for a highly sensible price if you get into looking for a fully-fledged smartwatch. However, you might find out it wanting.

Features of Huawei Watch Fit:

Huawei Watch Fit has several features; some of them are:

  • Design & Display: 1.64-inch AMOLED display, 456 x 280 resolution.

The Huawei Watch Fit has a design that’s more in line with a fitness tracker than the smartwatch thanks to its portraiture orientation display – a 1.64-inch one that’s crisp and features strong brightness even under harsh sunlight. Using AMOLED technology, the blacks look genuinely dark, which highlights its flowing, beautifully-arced bezels even more.

  • It features a comfortable size – 46 x 30 x 10.7mm.

There are larger displays out there, but you would be paying a pretty cent a lot to secure such a gimmick. Rather than going for outright size, the Huawei’s screen is unquestionably sharp enough to showcase all the information you need with ease, and at this price, we are impressed at the display quality.

  • Single function button.

There is only a single function button on the side of the Huawei Watch Fit, used for waking the display screen, pulling up the menu, or bringing you back to the primary watch face. As a bonus, it’s got an ultra-satisfying click as well. The Watch Fit can also be used for sleep-tracking, track your naps and sleep-patterns, so thankfully, it’s comfortable too. The band itself is silicone, and there are a variety of colours to choose from.

  • Two editions available: Active (21g) & Elegant (27g).

Huawei sells the Watch in two editions: the Active and Elegant Edition models. The latter is acquirable in white or black only, while the Active has a more extended range of colours, including pink, green, and black options.

  • It is available in one size, only 46mm.

There are many watch faces to choose from, which can be adjusted and customised using the Huawei Health app on your smartphone. It is easy to swap them, with different faces also introducing some new features too.

  • Fitness Features:
    • Inbuilt GPS and exercise modes;
    • SpO2 blood oxygen;
    • Pulse rate tracking;
    • Sleep tracking.

The centre of the Watch Fit is its tracking features. Its internal sensors are used to monitor pulse rate and blood oxygen, and a lot more features from the inbuilt accelerometer deliver a host of metrics in order to provide you with some healthy insight into your day-to-day routine.

  • Smartwatch features:
    • Notification alert and music control;
    • Bluetooth connectivity;
    • About 10-day battery life.

The additional area where the Huawei Watch Fit does well is in the battery life. It’s expected to last 10 days before you’ll need to slap it on charge, so knowing that you can get through an entire week with a couple of workouts pelted in before you require to recharge is an absolute win.

Verdict:

The Huawei Watch Fit is not a straightforward smartwatch, but rather a smarter-than-average physical fitness tracker. It piles in a heck of a lot of features for a highly reasonable price.

It is well-made and easy to wear, with great battery life and a surprisingly impressive screen. However, admittedly, there are more accurate tracking options out there, but if you wish for a physical fitness tracker with a little more technical oomph than usual, the Huawei Watch Fit is a good choice.
