How to Make a Floating Drinks Cooler

Summer is here, and we’re starting to think that the only way to beat this crazy South African heat is to live in the swimming pool. While you’re cooling off stay refreshed with an ice cold drink courtesy of this super easy to make floating drinks cooler that you can keep handy next to your lilo. This quick DIY project proves that pool noodles aren’t just for the kids and water aerobics. So grab an old, or inexpensive, pool noodle and get crafty!
What you’ll need:
- Addis Clearly Neat Storage Container 415 x 170 x 290mm
- Bluechem pool noodle
- Sharp knife
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Permanent marker
- 2mm mason line
STEP 1
Measure, mark and cut the pool noodle into two pieces of 220mm and two pieces of 350mm.
STEP 2
Turn the container upside down and position the four pieces around it.
STEP 3
Thread the line through the pool noodle and tie a secure knot. Burn the ends with a match to prevent fraying, then tuck the knot into the hollow core of one of the noodle pieces.
