When Meraki says they’re green practice, it’s not just lip service for the sake of marketing. When it comes to being environmentally conscious, the salon pays careful attention to detail so clients can rest easy knowing they’re pampering session won’t come at a cost to the environment. The building Meraki is housed in was built in accordance with the Green Star Office Tool, meaning it has a minimal negative impact on the surrounding environment. The salon’s indoor plants are indigenous to South Africa and do not require a large volume of water either. The Meraki team also encourages the use of email or SMS services to send receipts and there are no physical printed treatment menus, in an attempt to avoid unnecessary printing.

When it comes to treatment products, the salon’s routine is uncomplicated and effective. Any unnecessary products or ingredients are totally avoided to achieve visibly clearer results. Products used at Meraki contain no ingredients that may contaminate water for recycling, and water is heating individually when required for treatments so it is not wasted.
