From the Ashes: Tintswalo Atlantic to Re-open for Business in October

Tintswalo Atlantic

Boutique beach lodge, Tintswalo Atlantic, is accustomed to bouncing back. The lodge was left a shadow of its former self after a runway veld fire ravaged the entire lodge back in 2015, but the team bounced back in spectacular fashion to re-open the lodge with a fresh new look. Now, four years later, the lodge is gearing up for another spectacular comeback story after a fire broke out at the beach side lodge on 5 February 2019.

This time around, the damage is less sever with the fire wiping out the main bar, kitchen, dining room, lounge area and one of the 11 guest suites. Although all guests and staff were safely evacuated and the fire contained within a few hours, the affected areas had to be shut down and are in the process of being rebuilt.

The great news is, the award-winning lodge has announced that it will be back up and running by 1 October this year despite half of it having been destroyed at the beginning of this month. CEO Lisa Goosen says re-construction is expected to begin in March.

Yes indeed, Tintswalo will reign again and guests can once again look forward to enjoying panoramic views of Hout Bay Harbour, Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean while being treated to some of the most hospitable service Cape Town has to offer.
