Detox Your Skin with Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask! [Review]

Freemans black charcoal

If there’s one thing I love about a night in it’s putting on a face mask and climbing into bed with a good book. The feeling of fresh sheets and detoxified skin is my idea of an evening well spent. Which is why I was thrilled when I stumbled upon the Freeman’s Charcoal & Black Sugar-polishing Mask – it makes my skin feel free and beautifully cleansed and is the perfect winter treat for skin. I pampered myself, and my skin looked and felt renewed the next day. Here’s my verdict on this dual-action purifying mask.

I generally like to pamper myself with a facial mask once a week, and trust me, when I say I felt the skin detox with this one, I really felt it! My skin is already quite dehydrated, so the cold can make my skin even drier and this polishing Freeman mask is the ultimate S.O.S. product! It quickly injects the skin with loads of moisture and feels very luxurious going on. I tried to combat those, ahem, dry areas around my nose by applying a more generous amount around the area and it worked wonders for your dry skin. This face mask will leave your skin feeling wonderfully hydrated and smooth. I really saw it working double time as I watched it penetrate into my skin, as the little sugar crystals dissolve into a smoother texture (sounds like a science experiment- am I right?). If that isn’t enough, it’s suitable for any skin type too.

And, for those who need some added detoxing effects activated charcoal draws bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro-particles to the skin, helping you to fight acne as well as achieve a flawless complexion. The mask can feel a little grainy or rough on the skin at first but the feeling passes quite quickly and the results are worth it. It really feels satisfying to see the mask working on your skin and I’m well impressed by how my skin felt refreshed, soft, hydrated and most importantly healthy. The mask left my skin feeling beautiful. The best part is, I love that you only wear it for 5 to 7 minutes; I’m all about convenience.

The good news, for those budget-conscious beauty lovers is that it’s super affordable. The mask retails at Dis-Chem for approximately R80 (175ml), or you can also buy it online here. I first became a fan of these masks when I was a student wanting to try out a ton of different masks without spending heaps of money, needless to say; the Freeman’s range does not lack variety either- win. They offer tons of different masks each with different scents, textures, and benefits.
