First Five-Star Dog Hotel Launches in Cape Town!

It’s true what they say; “every dog has its day!” Well at least it’s soon to be true in Cape Town. Following the successful launch of the atFrits clothing label for dogs in June this year, Cape Town’s top dog, Frits Smit (aka Dogald Trump), announced that Cape Town’s first-ever five-star dog hotel will be opening very soon. That’s right, As of 1 December 2015, our four-legged friends will be able to rest their weary paws in style while their humans are away.
Now, before you think this is just a same-old-same-old kennel think again because when they say five-treatment they really mean it. atFrits is your canine companion’s gateway to doggie heaven. The hotel offers tailored packages to suit your best friend’s specific needs. Hotel facilities include round-the-clock care, a salon and spa, a retail store, gourmet meals from our a la carte menu, DSTV, webcams allowing owners to monitor their pets’ stay 24/7, themed movie nights, a snack bar and a vet to keep your pooch’s nose wet and his tail wagging until you return. Whether it’s a socialising session, going for their daily 45-minute walk in nearby local dog parks, taking a nap in one of the luxurious private suites or simply getting a “pawdicure” at the doggie spa – atFrits is a one-stop shop for your dog.
Dogs (or rather their owners) can choose between a wide range of accommodation facilities for their pet including the Platinum Suite (which includes a webcam, premium bedding and linen, a flat screen television, a complimentary bubble bath and spa treatment with daily dental care, a 45 minutes walk in de Waal dog park, and group play sessions), the Deluxe Suite (custom designed private rooms, each with its own unique theme, equipped with a soft bed and fleece bedding), or the Doggy Dormitory (perfect for sociable pets who love to play).
Frits’s human and founder of atFrits, Yanic Klue, says, “ There is a great need for a good dog care facility in South Africa who really takes the responsibility of looking after your beloved pet very seriously. We have put strict security measures in place, which allow you to monitor your dog at all times. Therefore, you can see what they eat, where they play and when they return from their morning walk. Owners can relax and get on with their day, knowing that we are passionate about the well-being of their pets.”
They took great care when designing the hotel for dogs and some of the best in the business were consulted. Architect and hotel design guru Greg Viljoen, of DesignLab, is responsible for the design and construction of the atFrits Hotel. As a dog lover and owner himself Greg completely understands our four-legged friends, and knows what they need to be happy. As the architect behind some of South Africa’s most beautiful hotels; Upper East Side Hotel, The Cape Grace and The Fan Court in Mossel Bay, to name a few, Greg knows what is required to make sure your pet is as comfortable as you are in one of these hotels. Greg explains, “ my dogs are like an extension of our family, and I am very particular about how they are taken care of, keeping this in mind I have designed the atFrits hotel to suit your dogs every personal need, making sure your dog is safe and well looked after”.
