Environ Body EssentiA Review: Try this Nourishing Dynamic Duo for the Body

After years of working as an Editor and writer for…
From Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela to David and Victoria Beckham; history has seen its fair share of power couples. While we can take inspiration from these influential duos in the world of politics and entertainment, the beauty world has its power couples too. One of my favourite dynamic duos comes from the house of Environ’s Body EssentiA range and it’s sure to be a summer favourite in your beauty cabinet.
Say hello to the Environ Body EssentiA Derma-Lac Lotion and Body EssentiA Vitamin A, C, & E Body Oil. Talk about a power couple! Their powers combined, this set can help to visibly nourish, smooth, and even the appearance of rough, dry, and photo-damaged skin. These two products are excellent on their own, but if you’re after excellent results then I would highly recommend using them together.
Environ Derma-Lac Lotion
This multi-tasking beauty find is a lotion and an exfoliator in one (wait, what?). The exfoliating lotion can be used to treat rough, dry, and sun-damaged skin but it’s also brilliant for eliminating those dreaded post-shave ingrown hairs on your legs and bikini line. But wait, there’s more. It will also help to treat super annoying chicken bumps on the back of your arm or any other rough skin on the heels, elbows, knees, or feet that you might want to get rid of. The bottom line is; use it anywhere you want help with softening and creating the appearance of smoother skin.
But wait, how can it be a moisturising lotion AND a kickass exfoliator — what sorcery is this? Environ Derma-Lac Lotion (R400) contains a medium concentration of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) which is why it can have moisturising and exfoliating properties at the same time. In terms of texture, the lotion isn’t exactly what you would expect from a traditional lotion — instead of a creamy texture, it has more of a runny or oily texture which is great because it means you use less product for each application.
You might not think it by looking at the product, but it really will leave your skin soft, smooth and nourished. I have very sensitive skin and suffer from some pretty bad ingrown hairs, but I’ve had no ingrown hair issues since I’ve started using the Derma-Lac Lotion after every shave.
Since it contains a small amount of lactic acid, the product may sting a little when you apply it to newly shaved skin, but it’s nothing you can’t handle. If you are going to use the product as often as I do, just remember to wear an SPF with any products containing active ingredients like lactic acid, since they temporarily increase sun sensitivity. Having said that, the product is completely safe and can be applied to the entire body, morning and evening.
Environ Body Oil
The other half of this power couple is the Vitamin A, E & C Oil (R435). As the name suggests, the Body Oil contains vitamins A, E and C to help nourish and brighten the skin while also providing antioxidant benefits. Combine Derma-Lac Lotion with Environ’s Vitamin A, C, & E Body Oil and dry skin won’t stand a chance!
This light, finely textured oil is rich in vitamins and antioxidants and nourishes skin like nobody’s business. The multi-functional oil can be used to relieve the appearance of dry, sun-damaged skin, or sensitised skin to provide immediate relief. It also works wonders to help smooth the skin and improve skin texture while also deeply hydrating the skin.
To use, simply combine a few drops of the lotion with a few drops of the oil and apply to the whole body. After just one use you can look forward to soft, smooth and nourished skin.
