Eep, El Burro is Opening a New Eatery in Newlands, Cape Town!
Eep, we’ve got some super exciting news – much loved Mexican eatery, El Burro, is gearing up to open a second eatery in Cape Town! The new restaurant is planned to open its doors in Cape Town’s southern suburbs, which means a little less driving when you’re jonesing for a frozen margarita and chili poppers. Here’s all the details on the new El Burro in Cape Town.
According to the El Burro social media accounts, the second El Burro is set to open its doors in Newlands, Cape Town, towards the end of this year. Word on the street is the new spot will be in Dean Street, and with the opening of the new Banks Burger restaurant in Dean Street this week, you can be sure that Newlands is soon to become a hotspot for foodies looking for a delicious bite.
The new location will join the existing El Burro restaurant in Green Point as well as Cabrito tequila bar; El Burro Taqueria on Kloof Street, and the El Burro Mexican Food Truck. Very soon you will be able to find the new spot next door to dessert hotspot, The Creamery and while the spot will be brand new, diners can expect the same restaurant format and menu that they’ve come to know and love from the original El Burro restaurant. But that doesn’t mean it will be exactly the same, this new spot will have its own look and feel and will bring something new and exciting to the El Burro name.
El Burro hasn’t yet revealed the exact date of opening but they have said that the new spot will open near the end of the year and will be ready for summer in Cape Town.
