Constantia Nek Restaurant To Be Replaced By La Parada

Constantia Nek

If you love Cape Town’s Constantia Nek restaurant then you’d better get down there fast because it won’t be around for much longer! The iconic restaurant is about to be replaced by a new La Parada restaurant and we can’t decide if we’re incredibly sad or really excited. Constantia Nek restaurant is one of the oldest spaces in Cape Town and will close its doors at the end of this month for a hefty make over.

According to Eat Out, the new La Parada in Constantia is set to be a ‘casual fine-dining restaurant’ and is scheduled to open in October this year. The new owners will keep the memory and facade of the original building but give the inside and gardens a new, modernised look. La Parada is owned by the Harbour House group who also own popular Cape Town restaurants Tiger’s Milk and Harbour House restaurant.

The new project is a welcomed change for many Capetonians who say that the restaurant is past its prime and in serious need of new blood. There have been complaints of slow service, bad food and tired decor at the iconic restaurant and while some may be super sad to see it go the new look and feel is sure to inject much needed life into the much-loved spot.
