City Sightseeing Launches Direct Coach to Franschhoek Wine Tram!

Franschhoek Wine Tram

There are loads of reasons to visit Franschhoek — the main one being wine and the oh-so-fun Franschhoek Wine Tram. But let’s be honest, you have a better chance of meeting Prince Harry than convincing a friend to volunteer to be the designated driver for a day of wine tasting and general frolicking in Franschhoek. And, if you’ve ever tried to get a quote for a shuttle service or even Uber Van between Cape Town and Franschhoek then you will know that it can be hellishly expensive and a bit of a mission to arrange. Luckily for wine lovers wanting to experience the Franschhoek Wine Tram, City Sightseeing has just announced the launch of a direct coach to the Franschhoek Valley, making it more affordable and more convenient to get to Franschhoek than ever before.

Starting 22 September, wine lovers will be able to book a ticket and hop on-board the City Sightseeing shuttle to Franschhoek and experience the old timey tram without all the hassle of arranging transport. The luxury City Sightseeing coach will do tours three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and ticket holders for the shuttle will be able to catch a lift to Franschhoek from select stops around Cape Town and head directly to the Franschhoek Wine Tram for a wine-filled day!

City SightseeingBook your seat and enjoy a beautiful day out in the winelands with the Wine Tram’s two hop-on, hop-off lines which allow you to visit nine wine estates in the valley. The trams and tram-buses pass each wine farm once an hour so you can explore at your own leisure or hop from one estate to the next. Wine Tram stops include Allée Bleue, Boschendal, Zorgvliet, Plaisir de Merle, Vrede en Lust, Noble Hill, Babylonstoren, Backsberg, Glen Carlou, and many more!

Your ticket from Cape Town to Franschhoek costs R470 per adult (price valid online here until 21 September) and includes transport to and from the valley in a luxury air-conditioned coach, an entry ticket for the Wine Tram, and a complimentary tasting on the tram.
