Cipria Milano Brings Professional Quality Beauty Products at Affordable Prices! [Review]

Cipria Milano

Great news for ladies on a budget, professional Italian cosmetics brand, Cipria Milano has finally landed in South Africa! The brand from Milano is all about offering women the best quality cosmetics without forcing them to sacrifice their tight budgets. Cipria Milano offers a range of shampoos, fragrances, makeup and cosmetics at their stand-alone stores in Cape Town and Joburg and I got the chance to try out a few products from the makeup range so you know what to expect before heading in store.

The thing I’m always weary about with more affordable makeup brands is the quality of the products. More often than not you get what you pay for and if what you paid for is watered down pigments and poor quality products then you can’t be too bummed when they turn out to be a waste of money. I think we all have a R40 lipgloss, eyeshadow, or lipstick chilling at the bottom of our makeup drawer that we used once, hated and then touched again. Which is why I am so impressed with Cipria Milano, the price tags might be super affordable but the products are far from ‘cheap’. With hundreds of colors and textures available in store you can use the Cipria Milano range to create infinite combinations and nuances without breaking the bank!

I got the chance to try the Cipria Milano Solo Satin Eyeshadow (R99.99), Cipria Milano Lipstick (R79.99), and Longlash Mascara (R119.00). The eyeshadow I tried was a goldy-beige colour and I was super impressed with the high quality of the pigment of the shadow. It can be applied either wet or dry to create a beautiful subtle glow on the eyes. The shadow blends and spreads easily and feels soft when applied to the skin.

I also loved the Longlash mascara which is a steal under R120! The mascara was a little runny at first but it has a very good consistency for creating super long lashes that really pop. You need to apply more than one coat to really get a good amount of fullness but the curved brush and liquid consistency allows you to coat every lash with ease and create the appearance of super long lashes.

As for the lipstick I loved the reddy-brown colour of this lipstick which was dark but not too overpowering or scary looking. The lipstick has a great pigment and feels quite moisturising on the lips.

You can find Cipria Milano at Cape Gate shopping centre in Cape Town (Corner Okavango & de Bron Road, Brackenfell, Cape Town) and Sandton City shopping centre (Rivonia Road, Sandton, Johannesburg). The brand has plans to open a third store in Mall of Africa in the coming months as well.
