It’s no secret that South Africa’s very own Rooibos tea has loads of health benefits – with everything from weight loss to cancer prevention, this tea packs a powerful punch. If you’re keen to learn more about our much-loved local tea then you’re in luck because the annual Rooibos Experience at Root44 Market in Stellenbosch is back this month, with more Rooibos than ever before.

Taking place on 28 and 29 April 2018, the Rooibos Experience offers a weekend dedicated to the mystical leaves. Try Audacia’s unique red wine made with Rooibos and Honeybush toasted wood chips or maybe Stellenbrau’s Rooibos-blended lager if you’re a fan of beer. The Woodstock Gin Company brings you Buchu and Rooibos-infused gin, and health food fans will love the Rooibos tea kombucha.

For those who want to get more familiar with Rooibos in the kitchen, there will also be a number of masterclasses held, including a class focusing on Larry Burger’s award-winning aperitif, the Spirit of Rooibos, which was first distilled in a steel water geyser.

There’s even a range of Rooibos-flavoured cured meats by Bay Biltong and a wide range of Rooibos beauty products and detox blends for your body and skin.
