Food trend forecasters have hailed 2018 as the year of plant-based eating, and there’s no doubt that many Capetonians are following the trend already. The growing trend of following a vegan lifestyle has taken the perception of ‘veganism’ from bland and boring, to tasteful and trendy in the foodie-sphere and Cape Town hotel, the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa is also doing its bit to put vegan dining on the map with the launch of a Vegan Tasting Menu in late 2017 and now a decadent Vegan High Tea!

Executive Pastry Chef Gina Marziani and her team at The Twelve Apostles have craftily created a delectable Vegan High Tea menu that will have even non-vegans clambering to try the new high tea spread. Diners can look forward to a tantalising smorgasbord of sandwiches and tortilla wraps with fried aubergines, roasted peppers and marinated tomato. Or on the sweeter side, forest berry jellies, Valrhona Manjari chocolate and peanut bonbons, as well as banana and oat cookies.
