Cape Town Hotel Launches Botanical Gin Blending Bar

Love gin? It’s gin o’clock at Radisson RED! Thanks to the new botanical gin blending bar at Radisson RED Hotel you can now learn to perfect your gin cocktail making skills. Located at Raddison RED’s OUIBar + KTCHN at the V&A Waterfront, the new gin bar offers customers a chance to learn just how to enhance the flavours of their favourite gins with different garnishes and the perfect tonic water.
If you’re all about learning how to mix the perfect G&T you’ll love this new concept which offers gin lovers a step-by-step blending guide along with reduced-sugar tonic water, garnishes, and all the tools needed to make and mix the perfectly balanced botanical gin and tonic.
Guests are provided with a selection of canapés to nibble on while they craft their cocktail as well as a bottle of gin (size and cost depending on the number of people at the table) and an array of different flavour profiles and garnishes to add to their gin cocktails. Think juniper, citrus, naartjie, grapefruit, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, fynbos, honeybush, sage, thyme, rose and lavender.
Hesitant to try your hand at gin blending? The hotel also offers tasting sessions at R250 per person where you can sample the bar’s house gin blends: the fresh, citrus and earthy Khoi Cloud, and pink peppercorn-infused Skinny Dip. Raddison RED pairs both its blending and tasting gin sessions with its own reduced-sugar tonic water formula, Atonic Blonde, which is made of a blend of finely balanced natural ingredients.
Botanical gin blending sessions range from R300 per table of 4, to R2250 for a table of 30. For bookings visit the Raddison RED website.
