Win Tickets to the Cape Getaway Show! [Competition]
Attention travel and adventure lovers, the biggest travel, outdoor and adventure event, The Cape Getaway Show, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Vans, is back at Lourensford Wine Estate and promises to be bigger and better than before! With live music, delicious food, incredible travel and adventure specials and amazing holiday prizes up for grabs this is a jam packed weekend you won’t want to miss out on.
Taking place over three days (from 1 – 3 April 2016) at Lourensford Wine Estate, the Cape Getaway Show offers visitors plenty to do including live music, a variety of food and drinks stalls serving wine and craft beer, as well as specials on camping, outdoor and travel gear. The event also includes special events happening each day with loads of adventures for the whole family and a few special treats for the outdoor sports fanatics. What’s more, the first 1000 people to enter the gate on Friday will receive an awesome Getaway T-shirt!
Some highlights over the two days include the Travel and Taste Theatre which will offer the freshest of seafood prepared by the winners of the “Ultimate Braai Master 2016” as well as a photographic workshop brought to you by the Getaway Team who will be on hand to show you all the new and exciting gear on the market this year. Bird lovers won’t want to miss the Eagle Encounters area where you can interact with a Verreaux’s Eagle, a Harris Hawk, a Peregrine Falcon, an African Wood Owl or a Barn Owl and learn about their rehabilitation and education programmes.
Adventure lovers can take part in the Getaway MTB Challenge on 2 April and soak up some of the most breath-taking mountain bike trails in the Cape while sweating it out. Choose to take part in the 30km ride or enter the whole family in the 5km ride (5km: R50 | 30km: R200). What’s more, if you enter the race you will receive a free ticket to the show! If cycling isn’t for you then take part in the Lourensford Getaway Trail Run. Runners can choose between an 8km or 13km trail run and take on some pretty exciting terrain (8km: R80 | 13km: R110). But make sure you get your entries in fast because there is only space for 600 runners! All runners will receive a Getaway ‘goodie bag’ and free entry to the Cape Getaway Show!
Tickets for the Cape Getaway Show are available at the gate or online and are priced as follows from R65 per adult for a one-day pass, R150 per adult for a full weekend pass, or R150 per family for a weekend pass. Kids under 12 get in free.
