New Café Brings a Taste of Paris to Green Point!

If you’ve ever been to Paris then you will know that Parisians love sidewalk cafés. In Paris, the act of people watching while sipping on a freshly brewed cup of coffee and munching on a freshly baked croissant is practically an art form. Luckily for everyone in Cape Town there’s no need to travel all the way to Paris to partake in this pastime because now we’ve got our own little slice of Paris right here in Green Point! Café Royale, Green Point’s newest gem opened its doors on Monday 17 August and promises to deliver a delicious experience for all who visit.

Located at the Cape Royale Luxury Hotel, this new French Riviera style café offers hungry diners an array of breakfast and lunch dishes, courtesy of Chef Phillip Castle, as well as a wide range of coffees and drinks. For breakfast, you can expect to find seasonal fresh eats and baked goods paired with Hausbrandt Coffee. Tuck into deliciously indulgent fresh artisanal bakes while sipping on Jus de fruit frais pressé (a choice of freshly squeezed juices), or take to one of the healthier breakfasts from Option De Santé (the Healthy Option).

Lunch time promises delights like Saumon fumé rasée (Shaved Smoked Salmon) on savoury waffles served with artichoke cream (R105), Spinach & Quinoa Salad with Cashews (the healthier option – R75), or the Plat Chaud de la Journée – Rich oxtail stew with baby root veg and sweet potato mash (R110).

The bistro boasts a cosy indoor setting for those looking to huddle up and keep warm, as well as an alfresco somewhat private, outdoor patio area for al-fresco dining and we can’t wait to try it out! The WomenStuff team has yet to review this spot but if the pictures are anything to go by, we’re sure you’re in for a quite a treat!
