Blistex Introduces Conditioning Serum for Lips [Review]
We all know that serums for the face are the best thing in the history of skincare but what about treating your lips with the same care? Lord Voldemort knows I need a little extra TLC in the lip area come winter time, and if there’s one thing that will get me excited for the cold and dreary winter days it’s the introduction of the new Blistex Conditioning Serum into my daily skincare routine! This little tube of joy promises to deeply condition lips and leave you with soft, supple, kissable lips all winter long.
If you’re a little obsessed with your lips, this new treatment is sure to become your new best friend. Packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients like olive oil, Omega 3, vitamin E and avocado oil, this daily serum will help you wave bye-bye to dry, cracked lips. It works to deeply hydrate and condition the delicate lip skin and is definitely one of my new-favourite budget skincare products.
I’ve been using the serum for a few weeks now and I have been beyond impressed with the condition of my lips since I started using it. This time of year, I’m usually reaching for a lip balm several times a day but using this serum every evening and morning has dramatically reduced the amount of times I’ve had to apply lip balm to give my skin an extra boost of hydration. Most days I’ve only needed a touch of lip balm once a day to keep my lips feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated.
The serum has a silky, lotion-like texture to it and a sweet, fruity taste and it absorbs fairly quickly into the lips, leaving them beautifully nourished. When applied, the serum leaves a glossy finish on the lips, without being sticky, so you can apply a lipstick over it with ease. The product can leave a slight white cast on the lips if you use too much or don’t rub it into properly, but you’ll soon get the hang of it after a few uses to avoid looking like you just wolfed down a tray of candy coated Easter eggs.
The serum comes in a small palm-sized pump bottle that can be easily stashed in your handbag for extra touch ups, but I haven’t found that it’s necessary to reapply during the day. I’ve been applying it every morning and night as part of my usual skincare routine, but I like to give my lips loads of TLC, so you can also get away with a once a day application to see great results. I’d recommend using it at night before bed to really get the full effects. One very small pump of the product is all you need to treat your lips.
